Domestic EV Charger Installation
There has been a huge rise in the demand for home EV chargers across the UK. A charger installed on an exterior wall of your garage or your home is convenient, safe and cost-effective. We are a fully trained team covering the Trossachs National Park, Stirlingshire and Perthshire, who will offer you the best advice and expertise to ensure your EV charger is installed quickly and efficiently.
Domestic Grants Available
As an OZEV Approved Installer, we can also help guide you on available grants.
The Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme provides up to £350 grant per installation (including VAT) to help you to charge your vehicle at home. This is up to a 75% contribution towards the cost of installing one charge point and it applies to most electric vehicles.
Additionally, Energy Savings Trust provides up to a £250 further funding on top of OZEV, with an additional £100 available in the most remote parts of Scotland.
Commercial EV Charger Installation
From a business point of view, having a workplace charge point is becoming more important as a facility for both your employees and customers. Both will benefit from the convenience and ease of being able to charge their vehicles whilst at work or visiting your premises. It will also demonstrate your business’s commitment to the environment which is important for staff and customers alike.
The variety of electric cars mean a range of charging connectivity needs, so it is important you install a charging point that works with the widest range of vehicles.
- The most common workplace installation is a wall-mounted Type 2 7kW charger, which is compatible with most of the best-selling electric vehicles and can charge a vehicle in around 3 to 7 hours, depending on the model.
- You may wish to install a faster 22kW unit or even a rapid charger if cost and space allow.
If you plan to install EV charge points in areas that are accessible to the public, it is important to consider access requirements. Most charge point manufacturers offer units users can access with either a key or RFID card to prevent unwanted usage.
Commercial Grants Available
As part of our Commercial Services offering, we supply and install your business EV chargers. We are also an approved installer under the OZEV Workplace charging scheme (WCS), which means we can help you with eligible EV grants. Currently, if you meet the requirements, the WCS reduces the purchase and installation costs up to £350 per socket, up to the maximum of 40 charge points. This could mean a saving of up to £14,000.
There are also grants available from Energy Savings Trust. To be eligible, the business must either operate plug-in vehicles, employ staff who operate plug-in vehicles , or can confirm future EV ownership or high levels of charge point usage from other sources, e.g. visitors or residents.
