Our Environmental Policies

Our Environmental Pledge

We recognise the importance of environmental protection and comply with all legislation, regulations, and codes of practice relating to the activities of Munro Electrical Services Ltd. We regularly review the environmental impact of our business which you can read on our Environmental Policy  We have achieved Silver Level status with Zero Waste Scotland and we continually work to reduce our environmental impact.

Reducing Our Environmental Impact

We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint so we use a hydrogen-diesel hybrid van.  It acts as a bridging technology, producing less emissions than a conventional diesel vehicle whilst being cheaper than a fuel cell vehicle. The hybrid burns hydrogen in a chemical process to produce electricity to run an electric motor with water vapour being the only emission. It is a small way to contribute to a better future.

Benefits of Hydrogen Technology

There are several benefits to driving a hydrogen hybrid vehicle,  namely improved environmental performance with a 70% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions and a 40% reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions. Hydrogen hybrids are also a lower emission vehicle solution with tailpipe emissions of 59g/km CO2 under test conditions. They also promote renewable energies, which helps conserve our natural resources.
